Art Preview #1

Good morning everyone :-)

Due to an issue with our furnace, our home is a balmy 55 degrees inside right now. As I sit here grasping a very hot cup of coffee I figured that I could post my first preview of some of the art from Superhero Temp Services #1. Those of you that know me from Facebook may have already seen some of this but thank you for looking again :-)

In this picture we have (from top to bottom) Character Studies of both Shadow Lad and Captain Shadow, the completed and inked page one, and the in progress page three. You should be able to click on the image for a larger version.

I'm writing up some character bios soon and will have them posted when I finish them. This has been such a fun project to work on so far and I can't wait to see the final result. The thought that I will actually produce a comic book and have it in my hands is an awesome feeling. This picture also almost caused a heart attack one evening after I posted a picture of it on Facebook. After it was up for a few, this popped up (click on the image to enlarge and check out the first comment):

It's very cool to have one of your idols comment on your work. I'm sure he says this to alot of people but it's awesome that he took the time to comment on my stuff. And if you follow Ethan on Facebook, you know it's him and not someone maintaining his page for him (like Geoff Johns).

Thanks for checking in and I'll have more updates soon!

What is Superhero Temp Services you ask?

What happens when a big corporation needs some extra help during a busy time or when someone is on vacation? They call in a temp. So what happens when a superhero, such as Shadow City's protector Captain Shadow, needs a vacation? They call in a ... wait, are there superhero temps? Yes, my friends, there are.

Superhero Temp Services is a 3 issue mini-series by newcomer writer / artist Jason David Manger about a go-getter superhero temp that steps up and has some fairly big shoes (boots?) to fill. Follow wannabe hero Jack Justice as he tries to make Shadow City a better place, at least while Captain Shadow is on vacation.

Issue #1 coming in Spring 2010. More information coming shortly!
